Plot Kosoku Esper
Hikaru Higashi, an otherwise ordinary middle-school student, was enjoying a hot-air balloon sightseeing trip with his parents when they were involved in a catastrophic crash. Although all three appeared to survive by a miracle, the truth behind the accident is far more tragic. The balloon had exploded under the shock of a flight-wave emitted by a pair of benevolent Esperians—supernatural beings whose homeworld had been annihilated by the Giron aliens and who had fled to Earth. In reality, Hikaru’s parents died in that very explosion.

Burdened by guilt, the Esperian couple secretly took possession of the bodies of Hikaru’s parents and continued to live with him as a family.
Sensing that the Giron aliens had also arrived on Earth, the Esperians transmitted a telepathic spark of inspiration to Dr. Asakawa—Hikaru’s uncle—who was then developing a prototype reinforced suit at the Institute of Light-Wave Energy. With knowledge derived from Esperian science, the suit was finally completed.
